inov-8 recently launched their incredibly impressive Tri-X-Treme range and they are quickly becoming a prized shoe for triathlon athletes. We review the inov-8 Tri-X-Treme 275 and give you the lowdown and what you can expect from these impressive shoes!
These shoes feel fast and are incredibly comfortable, and you get this from the first wear. What makes them incredibly ideal for triathletes is that the transition times won’t drag you down. The quick-release toggle and bungee lacing system allows for quick-and-easy transitions, allowing you to maintain your quick pace. Additionally, there is a heel pull for an easier on and off transition.
They feature a lightweight, breathable mesh and synthetic upper materials. The TPU lacing system is attached to the upper to ensure a more even support throughout the foot, and the Met-Cradle webbing promotes forefoot security while allowing for natural fluid movement. The tongue and collar are lightly padded, while the breathable fabric lining offers a great step-in feel.
These have a two arrow Shoc-Zone, which provides moderate cushioning, making them an ideal choice as a racer for intermediate runners, or as a trainer for advanced runners. The midsole differential is 8mm, while you alos have a removable 6mm foam insole, whihc supplies light cushioning.
Another top feature is the drainage ports within the midsole for optimal water dispersion. The sole delivers reliable grip and traction over indoor and hardpack outdoor surfaces; the sticky and fusion rubber outsole materials deliver exceptional traction. The Meta-Flex groove on the outsole is aligned with the metatarsal to maximize forefoot pliability. The Dynamic Fascia Band mimics the “windlass” effect, transferring a jolt of energy with each step, promoting a faster, more efficient stride.
The inov-8 Tri-X-Treme offer a natural fit and are based on the foot’s shape to ensure the best fit – the wider toe box allows the toes to splay naturally during use.
